Philadelphia is scheduled to move into the Green Phase of reopening on July 3, 2020. The key element of the Green Phase is that it eases most restrictions by lifting the stay-at-home and business closure orders. The intent is to allow the economy to strategically reopen while continuing to prioritize public health. While the Green Phase allows for a more robust opening, it does not signal a return to normal. We must continue to practice social distancing and exercise extreme caution, to ensure the continued downward trend of COVID-19.
Flight instruction poses serious challenges which is why we have put a number of new procedures into place to reduce the risk of exposure to the Coronavirus. For now, students and instructors will be temperature checked, will be required to wear masks and gloves, and to wipe down all controls before and after every flight. Additionally, we will ask that everyone complete a self-certification health form before each day of flying and sign a waiver of liability and indemnification.
Health and safety first. We will keep these measures in place until our government and health officials advise us that they are no longer necessary.

Tailwinds is a new flight school at Northeast Philadelphia Airport. Like many businesses, I’d like to think we’re unique, but that’s something you’ll have to decide for yourself. What I can promise you right from the get-go is complete honesty in who we are and what we do. You’ll find no stock photos of corporate jets or uniformed flight officers gazing skyward. No vague promises. What you will find is reliable information you can use to make informed decisions about pilot training that works for you.
